The Center for Computational Biology (Computational Biology Program) invites applications for a Research Engineer position available immediately. The Center (www.compbio.ku.edu) is an academic unit with interdisciplinary faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate training. The Center carries out fundamental research in life sciences, develops computational modeling tools, fosters community-wide activities in computational biology, and provides education for the new generation of researchers.


The Research Engineer will develop research software to support Center for Computational Biology projects, including public servers, databases, and other modeling tasks. He/she will also interact with Advance Computing Facility staff, and will provide general IT support to Computational Biology Center faculty, staff and students, including administrating workstations, and development and maintenance of the Center websites.
 
Required qualifications for the position includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in a related field with 1 year of related experience OR a Master's degree in Computer Science or in a related field.
